This book explores the dangers of storing nuclear waste on an island in the middle of the Mississippi River. The author blends actual events, the gulf war, the dicovery of CIA traitor Aldrich Ames, the World Trade Center bombing, into the story line to give the book authenticity. The book also exploes the differences between the two cultures that inhabit the island storing the nuclear waste; the Native American culture that respects and reveres the land, and the great peirl that the white man has placed it under. Although this is presented subtly, it is nontheless very powerful. It is also very intriquing the way the terrorist plays a cat and mouse game with first the CIA, then the FBI and then the local police. All the while, the terrorist seems to be just one step ahead. And the climax is certainly riviting. Very believable. Well done!
